Native Renewables Inc. (NRI) is an Indigenous led non-profit organization founded in 2016 to promote the use of off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to address the urgent energy needs for remote households on the Hopi and Navajo Nations. NRI installs off-grid solar to provide power to families on the Navajo and Hopi Nations through our Hozho Homes program. This program is our way to provide homes with clean energy to make homes self-reliant, and a place of harmony and balance. A majority of the systems we have installed are donated. We also train a local solar workforce with the skills to install and maintain off-grid photovoltaic (PV) systems. Education is an important element of our work, and we aim to inform the Native community about solar energy.
